What a place Mama is, it's such alaid back relaxed place, we thought Puri was chiiled but this place makes it look positively throbbing!!! Since we have been here everyone has been soooo friendly, maybe its because its so quiet , they keep telling us its usually far busier, but we're loving it.
This is what we came to India for, a beautiful beach , lovely ,bright , vibrant people, great food, some amazing sights... all that's missing is an elephant or three!!!!Still we're determined, we will find out where they are all hiding !!!!! The nearest we have come to finding them is a big rock which we thought looked like one, oh we were excited!!!
Seriously, this is an amazing place, we've had a fantastic mon to fri relaxing on the beach in our bikinis ( yes me too!!!) with no hassle from the pervs until the weekenders arrived on saturday morning, man they're sick puppies the way they trawl the beach with their phones trying to video some white flesh!! So glad we arrived before the weekend so we know that it's not normally like that.
At the top of the road are the most amazing relief carvings, honestly you know us we're not usually into that sort of old guff but these are immense, so amazing and to find them just at the top of the beach road!!! And more unbelievably they are free , not the usual, foreigners 500, indians 10 here, oh no you can see these for diddly!!!! This is where we spotted the phant, not an intentional carving but pretty realistic in a freak of nature kinda way!!! If your interested in looking them up the main one is called Arjunas Penance, also Ganesh raitha and the group name is something like the Mandapans - really cool!!!
Anyway we're off to Pondicherry tomorrow in search of cheese,baguettes, red wine and a bit of ooo la la francais stripey jumper,beret wearing , garlic munching fun!!! HONK HONK PARP PARP, POOP POOP, QUE SERA SERA HE HOHE HOHE HA !!!
