Bugger!!!!

What an introduction to buses in South America for Nick !!!!

It all started so well, tortilla wraps for breakfast and then a quick walk to the station to jump on the bus, first problem ..the bus doesn{t go straight to Guayquil , we{ve got to change at Riobamba, oh well lets get going,  it{s a quickie ands we{re there before we know it and hopping onto stage 2 , easypeazie....next stop Guayquil....uuuurrrrr actually no...next stop , side of the road and the ticket dude and the driver jacking the bus up on some rocks to try and change the flat tyre!!!!! half hour later the old tyres off and the spares rolling it{s way to the front, on it goes , the stones are removed and.

ouch...that's gotta hurt!!!
..........down it goes !!!! great stuff ,the spares as flat as the flat !!! Oh well in great Rcuadorian style we head on hoping for a servitcio ( sorry about the spanish ) . Half hour later and we{re pulling into a small shed where it looks like they invented the wheel yesterday, amazingly out of this tumble down old gaff some pretty technical equiptment comes out and they start repairing the flats with newspaper and a bit of old oil !!!!! Time for a Gringo fiesta we think and so it{s off to the shop, a pack of beers are purchased and much to the amusemant of the rest of the bus the Gringos have  a little roadside party, Nick pulls out his turkey impression and soon the bookings are flying in, we later find out he does an rqually good impression of a pelican ( available for weddings, birthdays, barmitzvars ( yeah I know totally wrong ) ornithology conventions, etc etc ) but thats later and this is now .
I'm in there somewhere

Eventually party over and it{s time to go, and we roll into Guay a little over two hours late. Onto the next bus, which must seriously have broken the land speed record, and amazingly ther Ecuadoriams are still throwing themselves on and off as it roars through villages at 80 km an hour. This bus drops us off as usual in the middle of nowhere, we jump into a cab and he takes us the last 80 km of our journey, so 14 hours after departure we{ve made it to the beach YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...but hold on the apostrophes done a runner again !!!!!!!!!!! Now to find somewhere to stay.

A quick look around and we find a great place , right on the beach, we{re the only ones there and so get ourselves a great deal.

it's the way you tell them...
We{ve got the two best rooms in the place, with a huge balcony and instead of the 40 dollars thry originally wanted we{re paying twenty !!! Too good to be true you say, and yes you{d be right because the next day as we{re coming off the beach after a hard day playing football, boogie boarding and sun worshipping, the desk jockeys on our case, aparently their boss has gone ape and wants three times the money they agreed off us even though we{ve got an agreement in writing for three days, so after a bit of verbal back and forth we{re off again and after looking all round town we decide on the place next door, it{s real high class pleasure seeking material, complete with pool and jacuzzi but we{re nearing the end so what the hell and in we go !!!!!!!!!

The next couple of days pass with loads more footie, boogie boarding, which to be fair i am now a near pro even though everyone keeps missing my amazing wave riding !!!!!, beach tennis playing, sunburning ( nick now does a very good strawberry and cream impersonation aswell as the turkey and pelican !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

no comment!!!!
................ and also a lot of toilet visiting and imodiam swollowing due to either a) dodgy ecuadorian food, b) dodgy ecuadorian food or c) dodgy ecuadorian food!!!!!!!!!!! We{re having a great time though , can the moon really almost be over ???????? It doesn{t seem right we{re having far too much fun to go home and back to work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just for the record Mantanita{s got a great beach but everything is really quite expensive and the place is full of posers, wanabees and dredlocked stripey clothed plastic hippies trying to juggle and surf ( not at the same time unfortunately , that would be pretty impressive !!!! ), Mancora is much more chilled and a whole lot nicer so thats exactly where we{re off to next!!!!!!! Oh no not more buses.................
