Our Very First Mini-Meetup (aaaawwww) - Jackson’s on Third

Phoenix Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

Phoenix may have been slow to get make it to the meetup board, but we are finally there! Our TB base is growing, and soon we’ll be the host to our very own ‘real’ meetup. Word is spreading that this is the place to be! In the meantime, we Phoenicians will continue to host and enjoy our mini-meets.

Our Very First Mini-Meetup (aaaawwww) - Jackson’s on Third

Jess, Adrian, Jeff, Jeff's Friend, Robyn

We chatted online, we chatted by phone, the time has come to make the leap and hold our very first Phoenix meetup (mini-meet, we like to start small).  Since the Phoenix area is SOOOO spread out and our Tbs come from all extremes of the valley, we decided to host this in Central Phoenix on a Friday night so everyone could come right from work.  The plans were set, the location was chosen, the time announced and the invites sent.  None of us had ever met (ALL of us are newbies) so this was an adventure for us all.

We soon figured out that none of us have any sense of time as we arrived anywhere from 6-9pm and some dialed in (WHAT????)  - Harriet, a meetup involves COMING in person!   Hahahaha!!!

In attendance were Adrian, Jess, Keith, Dema, Dante, Dante’s Friend, and Me J

Not to mention the America West, oops, I mean US Airways flight crew that Jess and I hung with prior to everyone else’s arrival.

We were close on closing the free travel vouchers, if only we had a bit more time . . . Darn baseball game.

Shortly after the AWA crew left and the bar traffic started to subside as they all headed to rush the stadium gates before the Diamondback’s game started, Adrian arrived.  We all got acquainted and quickly felt at ease enjoying one another’s company.  Jeff, Jeff’s friend, Keith and Dema gradually rolled in to join our growing group at the bar.

Now that we all arrived- center bar of course, we seemed to hold the attention of all those around us at the bar, and most assuredly that of the bartender (No dummy- He knows where his tips are). We all drank, laughed and enjoyed one another’s company while planning for tomorrow's Sedona trip.  This was definitely a sign of great things to come from the AZ group.  There may only be a few of us, but our TB spirit is strong.

I had to take off early (Keith scares me), so I made my escape from the bar when Keith turned his back.  (J/K Keith , you know I luv ya.)  Despite my early departure due to work, I was glad to be a part of the FIRST, but more so for all the great new friends I made.

I was wondering why you left when Keith left to go to the bathroom - it all comes out...!!
