Phoenix may have been slow to get make it to the meetup board, but we are finally there! Our TB base is growing, and soon we’ll be the host to our very own ‘real’ meetup. Word is spreading that this is the place to be! In the meantime, we Phoenicians will continue to host and enjoy our mini-meets.

Mini-Meet #3 – CK’s Bar & Grill

Donny, Robyn, Mel, Adrian, Brett, Sandy, & Mark

This was a special meet-up do to the fact that the AZ TB group had the great honor of hosting Brett who was here from the Netherlands. He claims he was in AZ for work, but I am sure it was the word of mouth about how much fun our TBs are to hang with. [smile]

Since he would be in town for several days, we did what we could to accommodate. Adrian quickly made a new friend and the two were attached at the hip for most of Brett’s visit (rumor is the two are now going to Vegas, and well you know the saying . . .) j/k boys.

Thanks to a co-worker of mine’s suggestion and Adrian’s pre-inspection, Ck’s Bar & Grill was selected for our official 09/06 Mini-meet.

Brett swears he doesn't have a drinking problem

As I said, I think word is spreading since a few more AZ TBs came out of the woodwork to join us in welcoming Brett (or maybe it was the Blue Moon Specials on Sat night), oh well either way, they came.

After this meet, I think it is official that the AZ TBs can’t tell time. Meet up time 7:30pm. Adrian-late, My Arrival- 9pm. Donny- 10PM. As for the rest, they aren’t talking so I will assume late also. J Sorry Brett, guess that is just part of the laid back AZ lifestyle. The upside is we all fit right in- in the Caribbean Islands.

By the time I arrived, Sandy and her husband Mark, Mel, Brett, and My partner in crime Adrian had already arrived.

The Final Four

A quick text to Donny revealed he was lost and turned around but on his way. So by meetup number 3, there proved to be some familiar faces and some new faces- the perfect mix.

After some brief introductions, a few hugs, a few beers, some great conversations, “the PinkCard”, some inappropriate photos, someone stealing Brett’s phone and typing wrong email messages to a fellow TB – or was it Brett typing these and blaming it on others to save his own hide, some incredible onion rings that are always better shared, some Lady & the Tramp action, and a tongue upside my face, Ck’s made last call and the bills came. Funny, I don’t remember that many Captain-n-Cokes?

Brett- I’ve decided to leave out the rest of the details of the evening for your benefit ;)

All I will say is this: For those of you reading this, if you haven’t already, Vote for Brett as Moderator #7. Brett-AZ luvs you!

Overall, it was great to meet the newbies and do hope that the rest of us did not scare you away, and really great to see the oldbies again. You guys are awesome.
