so the past 2 days have been def busy! On Wed, i got up early, eww and went out on the town, London is kool b/c the subway goes everywhere i want to go, perfect! So got on the tube and I went to the british museum which was freakin awesome, and free, a def plus. It has sooo much stuff, a huge egyptian collection, one of the best around, tons of roman and soo much more. I was suprised at how old some of the things where, i mean there are original greek statues in there! So after that i went and ate lunch at this cute park, it was a great day here, sunny and not too hot. It was so London, just sitting on the grass of tihs huge park with a ton of other people, it made me think of central park.
Afterwards, decided to hop on a bus, yes the red double decker ones!! I basically got to see the town from there, and it made it easier to figure out what i wanted to see and how to get there. On the bus i met this american girl named Cherrie. She is also traveling and is alone. She is stayin in london for a month, going to take some class at vidal sassoon salon here and then just travel around europe afterwards. So we ride the bus all over town and its soo kool. Basically got an idea of where to go and how to get there. Afterwards, went back to my hostel and met up with Nelly, my roomie from paris, and we went and watched a movie. It was a english movie, called hot fuzz, apparently was a big hit over here. Its a comedy and was soo funny. Then it was 12 midnight b4 i knew it and i was dead tired.
So then this morning woke up and went back on the bus and went to go to the Tower of London. It started raining and is kinda cold and neither me nor Cherrie bought a coat. So we tried to find something warm to buy, but the only thing close was a gift shop for the tower of london. Well we go in there looking for clothes and all they have are these tourist tshirts which are 15 pounds. Ouch thats 30 bucks, and for 30 bucks we both would rather freeze. Then on the way out cherrie found a kids tshirt for 8 pounds, it was funny looking, but she said she felt like a hooker in her tank top lol and was desprate, so desprate times call for a little boys tourist tshirt. Afterwards, made it into the Tower of London and it was pretty kool. Its one of the oldest preserved places in london and where anne bolyn and many other famous people died and were tortured.
After that went on a boat cruise to Westmisinster, & big ben and parliment . All of which were def worth it. Then decided to part, it was almost 5 and i def made the mistake b4 of going in the tube during rush hour, and did not want to again. Went back to my hostel and met my new roomies. Magda and Lena. They are from prague and pretty kool. The front desk guy moved nelly b/c i guess they needed a room with 2 beds and she was alone and the italian girl who was in there b4 left today. Which i never ended up catching her name. She was nice and quiet, excpet when she was on the phone yelling and fighting with some dude in italian. But i like my new roomies so thats good, and omg i am so glad its not me but they were just as shocked about the shower situation here as i was.
Basically the showers are these small small single showers, no room to change or anything. oh and they r dirty and there is mold on the ceiling and walls. They are shared with everyone, so at all times of the day u can just go in there and there is a naked guy just standing there, must be nice to feel so comfortable naked. Taking a shower is like pretending to be a spy. You have hide and then be slick and grab ur things and master your way into a toilet room, which is no bigger then the tiny shower and just as dirty, but the only other thing in there with a door. Then there is putting your clothes on. getting dressed challenges even a ballerina. now i was in dance classes most my life, so balancing to put clothes on without touching the ground or anything for that matter should not be hard but when ur trying to avoid touching everything in there cause its gross it becomes hard.
