my bunkbed in the hostel

I fianally made it to London!! So its def a busy city, on the go city. My plane ride was pretty good, but i think i was too excited to sleep. I got into london and the airport was packed! The line to verify passports was so long, and it was hot there. I stood in the line for like 45mins, but i guess i should be lucky, b/c a couple planes came in and then the line got crazy long, to where i could not see it anymore. Then the lady at customs was asking me a ton of questions. She was really grilling me, not only about where i was going but about me. But i guess they are taught to catch a lie so throw in some random ?'s.

So finally after getting thru customs, i get to the trains. Now its seems pretty simple , but its so busy and so much going on there, its easy to lose track.

I buy my ticket on this train called the gatwick express, it takes me straight into london, one flat fee, which is 15 pounds. Now for anybody who does not know, right now the us dollar here is a lil weak and for every 1 great brit pound its 2 us dollars. So thats like 30 bucks for a 30 min train ride! On top of that, since i will be flying from gatwick to barcelona, i had to buy a return ticket. so thats 60 us bucks just to get to and from the airport. London is soo expensive!!

So I finally get to my hostel, which was not too hard, just had to take one other train, from the underground, which is what they call the subway sysm here. My hostel is in a good part of london, a lot going on and central, right across from the train and bus.

messy huh
In the hostel i have 2 girls in the room with me, Nelly from Paris, who is relocating to London right now, and this girl from italy, which i could not for the life of me remember or understand her name since the 1st min i met her she started speaking italian to me. Nelly is kool, the italy girl just arrived so we shall see bout her. The hostel is in a old funky downtown apt. Its small, like the staircases are narrow and the bathrooms are soo small. Privacy is limited, so i guess that explains why when arriving there were guys in towels in the hall. But its clean, and decent price for london and a great location.

Well tonight i think i am going to go to bed early, i am in a internet cafe and its hot in here. It seems they don't do ac here a lot. My hostel does not have it either. its not super hot thankfully! Well i will keep people updated, my callign card does not work here for some reason and i can't call toll free numbers from any payphones or the reg phones here at the hostel, which sucks. All the payphones here use credit cards and they want 18 pounds to call home, uggg, so just email me or mesg me on here, i also am logging into aim when i get to internet cafes, but ill be out a lot tomrw. ttyl!!
