my bike, Roosevelt, hanging out with a view of the Atlantic Ocean
Today was the first real day or riding. It started off with 6am wake up (unless you were one of the 7 people who went to watch the sunrise over the Atlantic...which I now wish I had done), followed by a long line for the 2 bathrooms in the Manse, and breakfast (2 day old doughnuts and some bagels). It was the first day that my chore group, Michaelangelo (we're split up into 5 groups, all Ninja Turtles themed), actually had to do anything. My group is me, Beau, Tony, Ellen, Alana and James, which is awesome, because they all seem cool and we get along. We're on trailer/laundry crew this week...which is why we haven't had to do anything yet (we'll be doing laundry tomorrow, and today's the first day we had to leave a host and move all our stuff).
Taking in the last time I'll see the Atlantic Ocean for 2.5 months

After the trailer was loaded, the Manse was cleaned, a thank you note was left, and everyone had their cue sheets, we headed down the street to the beach for the wheel dipping. Dylan actually fell and scraped his elbow before we had even made it one block...maybe he should have practiced a bit more with those clipless pedals before the trip...haha. Anyway, we all got to the beach, and stood around taking pictures for a while...then took our shoes off (sand in cleats is NEVER a good thing) and carried our bikes down to the water. There were a bunch of parents and friends there taking pictures for us...it was pretty cool.

We dipped our back tires in the Atlantic (I dipped my front wheel, too, since a friend of mine told me I had to...otherwise, I'd only be biking across the US minus the length of my bike) and headed back to the boardwalk to put our shoes back on and head out...we were on our way...
