It's either we came to London at the wrong time or this city is really such an expensive place to be.
But you know what they say, when in London, do what the Londoners do right (or something close to that at least). So that pretty translates to drinking, partying, shopping, eating and doing practically nothing, lying on the grass grazing at the gigantic trees in the universe.
Except for the last bit, that just simply means spending. But it didn't block the way of enjoyment. Not that we were resigned to be super thirfty --- it's just that we surrendered to all possibilities of worrying about the charges later. I guess that's why we had a fun time during our 4-day stay in London.
What struck me was the amazing experience visiting the museums and galleries full of history and culture. There were too many things to see and discover. And of course there are many other nice places like Portobello & Coven Garden for shopping; beautiful parks to visit right in the middle of the city --- perfect for a little unplanned picnic; the grand Westminster Abbey and the iconic Big Ben. The thing is, some places are best seen in the evening than in the day.
For me, London is a posh place to be!
