I always wanted to visit the Balkans by car and this summer we did it; Amongst others Shkodar in Albania, Mostar in Bosnia, Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia, Slovenia and the whole coast of Montenegro. My girlfriend Kaija and I started the car without any serious goals other than have a good time and see as much as possible - and so we did.

Waking up in Carlazzo

We had a great evening arriving in some evening weather which was warmer than 25 degrees; we both needed it and missed it, being able to sit outside and enjoy and talk the whole evening was wonderful.

I am not good at sleeping but I slept great that night, I woke up around 8 am and couldn’t wait to step out on the balcony to have my first rendezvous with the powerful sun of the south.

I quickly went after my camera because I really enjoyed the sight even though we didn’t have a view over the lake. I was anyway trilled to see the green mountains above me and a small Italian village below me; could one ask for more.

The village was staring to wake up slowly, very slowly even though it was a working day being a Wednesday. In this environment it seemed like a Saturday or a Sunday morning; everything was calm and people were waking up. I let my girlfriend sleep for an hour more before I woke her for a breakfast on the terrace of the hotel. The sun was beautiful, and so was the forecast of the day and our holiday as well.
