Hotel Campo Marzio
The hotel is situated in the centre of Vicenza near the central station. It is a comfortable hotel which probably had its glory days some time ago.
The reception staff were friendly and swift upon arrival and they are doing an effort in order make us feel good here. Their recommendation of restaurant was good.
The room is nice and clean, we have a King size bed, that doesn't split and the bathroom is ok. The rooms have probably been kept like this for 15-20 years, but everything is working.
The price was reasonable on such notice and they had a room when we needed it.
All in all an okay hotel. Low end of a 4* hotel.

Antico Restaurante agli schioppi
Situated on the quiet square Piazza del Castallo this is one of the few places where there are some actions in this area. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor service.
The outdoor area is sheltered by green plants and tables are nicely decorated with matching orange accessories. The temperature was beyond 25 degrees so we decided to sit outside on the last free table.
The outside area was mainly being taken by two parties; one being an Italian course mainly for retired English local residents and another group consisting of Swedish businessmen being shown the Italian food by their Italian host. The rest were couples like us enjoying a warm evening in Vicenza.
We decided to settle with two dishes; an entre and a main course. The first two dishes were a bigoli and tagliatelli with octopus. Both were delicious and portioned well; not too small and not too large. Our main courses were salted cod and veal and here we again were more than satisfied.
All in all, a very nice restaurant; cosy, good food and a wonderful evening.
