The M 17 from Metkovic to Mostar
Driving the M 17 from Metkovic to Mostar was somewhat of an experience due to the Bosnian police.
The road is very beautiful following the Neratve River all the way from the Border to Mostar. The first part of the road; well less than 5 km is newly asphalted and the rest is quiet old.
After 10km we started to see them everywhere; the police! Every 2-3 km they had a road control stopping especially locals. The fellow drivers were very good at indicating the next control with their headlights but we quickly assessed that they didn't want to speak to anybody driving a Belgium registered car. On the last 15 km towards and from Mostar we met 5 controls each way.
By the way; there are some very good friutstands along the road.
