A journey all around the continent, visiting some of the less travelled routes (if such routes still exist and I think them worth trying). The journey ends outside South America, the finish in western Canada.

I´ve reached the bottom of the continent of South America, the only way now is north!

I left Calafate on Tuesday afternoon to get to Rio Gallegos and buy a ticket for the journey to Ushuaia on Wednesday morning.

The bus was supposed to leave at 8.30, but didn´t even start moving until 9.45 because they were aware Chilean border officers on Tierra del Fuego were only working from 6 to 7 in the evening, so they left late to time their arrival for then. We had to get our passports stamped four times, wait for a ferry to come over from Tierra del Fuego to the mainland and take us back over, and the odd stop for refreshments. On the ferry we saw some porpoises or dolphins, which was nice.

I finally arrived at 11.30pm last night, about 3 or 4 hours late! Anyway, it seems a nice place and I will be staying here a little while to relax.
