Warsaw independence day race
November 11, 2008
I ran the Warsaw Independence day 10k today. It was a wonderful day for a run, the early winter weather easing up just enough to provide a very comfortable run in shorts and t-shirt. The race is all downhill, staring in the old town part of Warsaw and ending at the Villa Nowe palace. So far, the race results give me a new PR, but I think it's a lot better than the time listed so far.
I didn't expect much for support, and I wasn't disappointed. There were no water stops, and the water at the end was hard to get to. I prepared by carrying a water bottle with me during the race, I like to drink while I run. They did serve a nice soldiers soup at the end, which was fabulous.
Afterwards we had crepes at this great little place, what a great day!
