Crossed back into Argentina again after Chile.  But almost didn´t.  We were held in no mans land between Chile & Argentine border for seven hours because the Argentinian border police weren´t happy with the truck´s insurance.  So after numerous phone calls back and forth they eventually let us through but too late to get to Bariloche.  Ended up bush camping on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi and getting to Bariloche the next day instead.  There´s tonnes of stuff to do there.  Kayaking, horse riding, trekking, mountain biking, couldn´t make up my mind what to do.  But ended up being gaucho girl for the day out riding the Argentine steppe on horseback.  It was pretty cool, even though I haven´t a clue about horse riding and probably looked like a sack of spuds bouncing around when I tried trotting or cantering.  But I loved it all the same, riding through the woods with deer running around in front of you.  Then topping it all off with the all important asado (bbq) back at the ranch when we were done.  What more could you ask for!..

From there we had a long long 2 days drive south to El Chaltén.  Two days of driving through emptiness, just grass plaines as far as the eye can see, with no animals, no houses, no other traffic.  I don´t think I´ve ever driving that far and seen so little life.  But then I woke up to find us stopped for photos and the Fitz Roy mountain range, all snow capped jagged peaks in front of us.  From El Chaltén I did a 13 hour hike out to the Torres glacier.  Four and a half hour hike from the town out to the glacier through wood land and up through the morane.  Then an hour and a half trek on the glacier, and hours ice climbing then trek and hike back to town.  Long day - I was well shattered by the end but really worth every minute. Great hike, great views, and some fantastic photos to take home with me....

From here we keep heading south, to Moreno Glacier, Torres del Paine and then Ushuaia.  Lots more hiking ahead of me.... I need it though after all I´ve been eating last while..  Can´t wait....
