So, this would finally be my first time in Asia...I´ve wanted to do this for so long, but somehow every time other destinations took it´s time and money. This year, I decided to finally do it, didn´t care about going there alone, choose the cheapest flight, that would lead me to Southeast Asia and just booked it!

DAY 2 exploring Bangkok and TB meet up

Grand Palace

I got up pretty early that day, since my plan was to go to Koh Phangan the day after and I was excited to attend my first TB meet up, that luckily took place on my second day in Thailand! So I had just this one day to see as much as possible of Bangkok! I had already plans, where to go and choose to take the BTS again as far as it would take me and then switch to either Tuk-Tuk or cab! I ended up at Bangkok train station and had the glorious idea to walk from there to Grand Palace. Unfortunately, I was unable to figure out which one of the various roads around the station would take me there…on the map, it seemed less complicated! However, I took a tuk-tuk, which initially recognized, that I desperately needed a new suit and took me to a fashion store! After a decent discussion with a vendor, I got back into the tuk-tuk which drove me to Grand Palace!

That place is really impressive…very nice and so much to see! I stayed there pretty long and was interviewed twice by children in uniforms…probably pupils with the task to talk some  English!?

After Grand Palace, I walked around in this area to see some more of it and afterwards took a taxi back to a BTS-Station and took a skytrain to Victory monument.

After that, I already had to go back to the hotel, to get prepared for the meet up…and had not seen nearly as much as I wanted to.

I left the hotel and too the skytrain to National stadium, where I took a tuk-tuk, to get to Khao San Road, where the meet up took place! I even managed, not to be taken to any suit- or jewellery-shop…yeah! During taxi, it started to rain cats and dogs…or as I am German, let´s better say elephants and hippos! The tuk-tuk filled with water and the BKK-map in my backpocket poured away. I arrived at Khao San Road and had no problem to find the venue, tahnks to perfect directions…unfortunately, an ocean was to cross, to get to the bar! But did I have a choice? I don´t think so…so I just did and it was definitely worth it! The meet up was just great! I met so many great people and had an awesome time with them! For details have a look at my meet up – blog! It´s worth it! ;)
