DAY 1 flight to and first day in Bangkok

Bangkok Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

So, this would finally be my first time in Asia...I´ve wanted to do this for so long, but somehow every time other destinations took it´s time and money. This year, I decided to finally do it, didn´t care about going there alone, choose the cheapest flight, that would lead me to Southeast Asia and just booked it!

DAY 1 flight to and first day in Bangkok

I took the flight from Frankfurt via Colombo to Bangkok on Thursday afternoon. The flight was okay, so was the stop-over in Colombo and I arrived in Bangkok without any problems.

As for any reason, two nights of accommodation in Bangkok were included in my flight booking, I was fetched up at the airport and brought to the hotel, which was part of Trinity Complex in Silom. The hotel was very clean and compared to my usual accommodations definitely “upper-class”! I arrived there at about 3 pm on Friday. Decided to sleep an hour, have a shower and then make my first steps into Bangkok!

Everything new, everything different, everything strange…but also interesting and exciting!

I decided to get my first impression of the city via skytrain (I love public transport) and ended up at some huge shopping malls. I realized, that public transport wouldn´t lead me to the (in my opinion) interesting parts of the city, where I could find the sights, I wanted to see or Khao San. As it was already getting late, I decided to just walk around the malls and the area around Trinity Complex to see that part of the city.
