Beautiful Kauai
I loved each of the Hawaiian Islands in different ways for different reasons, but Kauai holds a special place in the depths of my heart.
Sugar cane no longer waves in the wind, but I can close my eyes & smell the sweet smell of sugar cane being processed
in the mill on the south edge of Lihue.
The tree tunnel leading to the old town of Koloa is a must see. Then on to Poipu before heading west to the dryer side of Kauai & up the mountain to lush Kokee & the breathtaking view of Kalalau lookout.
Hanalei ion the north shore is something that has to be experienced to really comprehend. What dreams & movies are made of.
Jurasic Park, Uncommon Valor, Blue Hawaii, Fantasy Island & TV series "Lost" are a few of the movies filmed there.
Nearly destroyed time after time by hurricanes over a period of years, Kauai's people came to her rescue & they continue to
flourish. When you hear Elvis sing Blue Hawaii, think of me. I hope to see her once more before I get to old to travel.
