Firstly, this rooster had the biggest feet ever! Secondly, I was upset because he was posed nicely against a blue door that would've been a brilliant shot, but when he saw me he started to run off :(

How can such a beautiful morning turn so violently wrong in the afternoon?

Easy… have lunch in Lespar (circa 2150m) and then schedule camp for Langdi (1800m).

The morning, as I said, was great. It was very leisurely. Lespar was below the snowline! And the weather was pretty hot! OMG!!

Add to that, we didn’t look at the topographical pictogram thingy mabob. We assumed that in going from 2150m at lunch to 1800m at camp, life would be pretty easy. I didn’t read where it said we had to descend 700 metres or so to cross the Koti Khola before climbing back _up_ to 1800m.

If you hadn’t guessed… I hate coming back down. Descending takes more out of me than ascending. Instead of the power of climbing, it’s all control in coming down. And hours of attempting to control my muscles in one sitting with a 2 week old protein deficiency doesn’t seem to work well for me.

To make matters worse. This was the last night on the trail.
