Kathmandu: Raski makes for happy times
Yesterday afternoon I did a little shopping in Thamel; books, souvenirs, more fleeces… and medication. I found a chemist pretty easily and got a few things for her back and stomach issues. So hopefully that’ll all clear up in a few days.
Met up with the Everest kids this morning over breakfast – which T actually ate! – and their trip sounds about as eventful as ours. Dan got AMS, and his girlfriend got hypothermia.
So that must’ve been fun.
The rest of the day was just wandering around Thamel trying to pass time and filling up on protein that is of the meat-based persuasion.
Dinner was what we were waiting for. We were off out with Ang, Subas, and Prasuram to a traditional style show. Typical fare was served and the show was basically just women coming out to different themed music in different traditional outfits. The outfits and music all depended on the ethnic group they were supposed to belong to. It was interesting to see the differences, and the raski I drank made for even more interest.
Safe to say that I got pretty tanked on the local spirit. Nice.
