I Can't Believe It's Ham

Seoul Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

Tales of my student exchange to South Korea in 2005. I've taken the entries from the blog I kept at the time. Actually pretty glad I've put it up here as I just relived the whole experience in re-reading the entries before posting :D

I Can't Believe It's Ham

Well, I bought "ham" the other day just in case too many eating establishments are closed over 추석.. In any case, I had some breakfast this morning.

It was interesting.

Don't get me wrong, it was tasty... Not delicious, just tasty. I ate what I cut, and I will eat more over the coming days. But the taste, I thought, was interesting.. so I read the label.

What did I find?

54% 돼지고기, 23% 닭고기

How is that ham?

54% pork, 23% chicken.

Give me a break.

In a country where all you can find is pork - even in the ice-cream - they put chicken in the ham?

How does this make sense?
