The weapon of the city
The keys you find in the city's weapon are all over the city. It seems it dates back to 1293. The dead painter I am reffering to wasn't even born then, that happened in 1606. More then 400 years later people still visiting Leiden to find the birthhouse of Rembrandt. It's not there anymore but a little plaquette marks the place where it was. But the tradition of Annie celebrating her birthday at the bar with the same name ('Annie's Birthday' or 'Annie's verjaardag' in Dutch) seems to have ended last year. That's where we came in. This year at the very last summer weekend in the Netherlands TravBuddy's entered the city of Leiden to celebrate, yes, what to celebrate actualy?
Let's call it Anna's Birthday then. Afterall she organised this meetup in Leiden and did this in such an unforgettable and fantastic way that we might as well thrown in a new tradition here. Happy Birthday Anna! A job well done!
