Katherine exhibits the wonderful earrings she bought earlier in the morning in Victoria. She wears them well.
As we waited for the ferry to take us back to Vancouver, we stopped at a small sausage stand to appease the hunger and thirst that we'd built up from our romp thru the gardens. The sausages were from the Galloping Goose Sausage Company of rural Metchosin ... of which i have no idea where that is. If you should be interested though, you can reach them at 250-474-5788 or online at email@example.com. Their virtual shop is at www.islandnet.com/~sausage. We tried the Hot Italian and the Boerewors. There was a small vat of the best tasting spicy relish ive ever had in my life, of which i drowned my dogs under (or rather, Kelly's dogs).
The sun chased us through the islands as we danced with her evening rays on our backs.
We topped that off with another vat of sweet red onion chutney. I was having doubts about spicy country mustard, ketchup, spicy relish and chutney, but man ... did it all come together in the end. I couldnt stop licking my lips after every bite. Katherine informs me, just an FYI, that she prefers the meat of the sausage to the buns. This means, to translate, "Big, dont bother offering me the bread" hahahaha! God i love these two.
After we returned the car to the rental, Dave makes a heroic return to pick us up and drop us off at Michael's with our gear. With our bags and such devested, we hop on over to a local late night eatery, aptly so named: Number 1 Beef Noodle. Hahahaha! So its close to 1:00am, and we are gorging ourselves on spicy pork noodle soup, fish hot pot, sliced pig ears, lightly stir fried large intestines (i had to ask what the difference between the large and small intestines were.
The trail of the ferry gets lost in the trail of the setting sun.
..my answer: well the small intestines are small, and the large intestines are large). How silly me to ask hahahah! We passed around Michael's warm boba green tea with soy milk and fresh self-served boba (came in a separate bowl and serving spoon ^^). It was a nice warm treat to contrast my BURNING mouth with the noodles. Sweet buns and condensed milk, and lychee ginger tea pretty much put a warm cap on the night, as my cheeks filled with roses and lavender, my body melted into a state of intense relaxation. Good eats, and good company to share it with. The taxi ride home was uneventful ...
