Day 4 - Gold Valley

Flew into Nelspruit today. William picked me up and we drove over to Gold Valley and the lodge. In a word... Breathtaking! Met everyone at the lodge... Matt and Sylvia, the kids - Savannah and Amber, the chef - Ursula and of course my guide, William. Got settled in and then took a tour of the property. Got a chance to see some of the animals they have on site (most of them for hunting... it is typically a hunting lodge!). It was overcast and cold today but hoping that the weather will clear up tomorrow.

I found out about Gold Valley Lodge and the Greeff's through a friend of a friend who had been on safari with them in the past. He had actually been with them twice and is planning another trip with them next year. I figured if he had been back then the experience must have been great so I gave it a shot.
Wow! I had an amazing time. Matt & Sylvia go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The meals were exquisite and are all home cooked local fare.
I highly recommend them for anyone wanting to experience South Africa. They do both hunting and photo safaris and will tailor a package to suit your interests.
