LAS VEGAS TRAVBUDDY MEET UP (03/2008): The very first TB meet up I attended.
1st Travbuddy Meet Up in Las Vegas, Nevada (April 04-05, 2008): Interesting how I started going to meet ups and how addictive these meet ups can become: the story is long and I will tell all from the beginning. First I joined Travbuddy just to get a map of the places I had travelled, then I spent four months or more without logging back on. One evening, I received a friend request from James www.travbuddy.com/rollerblading) from Sydney, Australia, he said nothing except an invitation to add as a friend. I declined the invitation because I did not find anything on his profile then that I was interested in, not roller bladding at least. Another month went by and I received another invitation for friendship from Christian (www.travbuddy.com/chokk), I logged onto travbuddy and viewed his profile: interesting I thought, he had been to many of the European countries I had been to and many that I so desire to visit. I accepted his request for friendship and spent almost an hour reading through his blogs, enjoying the road trips and beautiful photographs. It was not until beginning of March 2008 that I became active on Travbuddy, I updated my profile and included my dream destinations and places I had already been to.
I searched hundreds of profiles and read so may blogs making TB my entertainment for hours on end - especially during the weekend. One such day was when I encountered Melanie (www.travbuddy.com/mellemel8), I had never read reality described in so few words and so sarcastically as Melanie did on a comment to one of the travbuddies. I could not help myself so I sent her a comment regarding the comment she had made, we laughed (online) and it took less than thirty minutes for us to become friends online. The next thing I know I was being invited to my very first meet up in Las Vegas. The invitation fired an interest in getting to know all who had signed up and confirmed attendance to the meet up: Melanie introduced me to James (www.travbuddy.com/pearcetoyou) who was coming in from Kansas City and arriving the same day as me with only an hour apart. James and I became friends instantly and we communicated for less than an hour before exchanging phones after a hearty discussion about his travel to Africa. This first meet up could not come soon enough as I counted the days to when I would be in Las Vegas: details of my first meet up is included in my Las Vegas Meet up blog, click here http://www.
KANSAS CITY TRAVBUDDY MEET UP (06/2008): Second TB meet up I attended
travbuddy.com/travel-blogs/29262/Pre-Meet-Up-at-Terra-Rosa-Italian-Restaurant-Red-Rock-Resort-Spa-Las-Vegas-1 it was a blast indeed.
LAS VEGAS TRAVBUDDY MEET UP (09/2008): Third TB meet up I attended
2nd TB Meet Up: Kansas City, Missouri (June 20-21, 2008): The second travbuddy meet up which took place in Kansas City, Missouri was a result of the recruiting James did at the meet up in Las Vegas. The 'Vegas' crew was going to be there and James had specifically brought me a Kansa City T-shirt to woo me into attending the meet up that he and Mark (www.travbuddy.com/travelman727) were putting together, it was such a buzz I could not resist. It was scheduled for June right after my trip to Uganda; I did not have a difficult time arranging this since it was a weekend trip (Fly in Friday, leave Sunday, and back to work on Monday). I pre-booked my flight to Kansas City, sent my itinerary to James who had the hotel booked and all I had to do is pay him for the hotel on arrival. He had arranged for me to have a roommate and got us in touch before hand so we could communicate, my roommate turned out to be the most amazing little person I have chanced to meet in my travels, she is Yadilitta.
Yadi (www.travbuddy.com/yadilitta) is Peru's Travbuddy ambassador and one can see why when one meets her. To view my blog on Kansas City Meet up click here http://www.travbuddy.com/travel-blogs/35462/An-excuse-for-a-man-My-Sony-digital-camera-did-not-make-it-to-KC-Tucson-1

3rd TB Meet Up: Las Vegas Travbuddy Meet Up (September 12, 2008): After Kansas City and Las Vegas, I made another trip yet to Las Vegas and during this second meet up, Melanie then known as the Queen of meet ups, talked me into organizing a meet up in Tucson. The months were getting hotter, June, July, August and even September wouldn't do it had to be November when the weather was cooler and much nicer. November it was, we settled for the first week in November for the Tucson Meet up. The second Las Vegas meet up held on September 12, 2008 was instigated by travbuddy Chris (www.
travbuddy.com/aussieguy) from Australia who did not actually make it to the meet up. Co hosted by Melanie and Erin (www.travbuddy.com/poohstanggt), this was the third best party time in a foreign state I had attended as a travbuddy. The pre-meet was held at the Blue Martini Lounge (www.bluemartinilounge.com) in Town Square not far from the Mandalay Bay. In attendance were Melanie (www.travbuddy.com/mellemel8)), Erin (www.travbuddy.com/poohstanggt), Bret (www.travbuddy.com/metsbwd), Melissa (www.travbuddy.com/melissa919), Adrian (www.travbuddy.com/acowboy), Dana (www.travbuddy.com/jerseygirl67), Heinz (www.travbuddy.com/jdax57), Sal (www.

5th TB Meet up: NYE Meet up in Amsterdam (Dec 31- Jan 02, 2009): This is by far the largest travbuddy meet up ever put together, something that many who attended will always remember. Beside the fun and beautiful city, the people that came together were beautiful, fun, warm and share the love for travel. If you were there, you know what Im talking about. It took five very dedicated travbuddies to pull this off: Devika (www.travbuddy.com/Devika1985) from Holland, Alex (www.travbuddy.com/Alex-b) from Holland, James (www.travbuddy.com/pearcetoyou) from USA, Wendy (www.
travbuddy.com/Wendyveer) from Holland, Ana (www.travbuddy.com/Dolfijn) from Holland, Ket ( www.travbuddy.com/Ketmeister) from Holland. Lets look at the attendance list, shall we? Well I would love to list them, but the count is a little over 70 people. There were 18 countries were represented including the USA, Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, Thailand, India, Syria, Indonesia, Ireland, Philippines, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Finland, Russia, Uganda, Germany, and Czech Republic
Me (Harriet), Robert (rvegas),Alarick (AlarickT), Joanne (Flyinhigh), Maria (Miamimaria), and Julian (jmoreno)
Meetup #6: Fort Lauderdale Meet-up (August 21-24, 2009): This meet-up was organized and hosted by the charming Joanne (Flyinhigh). The meet-up was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. so we got out of the house early enough to give us a head start.
We were to meet at the bar from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. then dine at 6:30 p.m. within the same location. Joanne pulled up the directions on Google and soon we were on our way: we arrived ahead of time and decided to valet park the car for easier retrieval later in the night. We had a confirmed list of ten on travbuddy forum but not all who confirmed showed, a few sent in last minute cancellations like JR who we missed. In attendance were; Joanne (www.travbuddy.com/Flyinhigh), Harriet (www.travbuddy.com/Africancrab), Alarick (www.travbuddy.com/AlarickT), Stephanie (www.travbuddy.com/JerseysFinest77) and her sister, Robert (www.travbuddy.com/rvegas), Maria (www.travbuddy.com/Miamimaria), Yoko (www.travbuddy.com/globe-hippie), Julian (www.travbuddy.com/jmoreno3)

I just decided the day before that I would journey to las Vegas with Adrian and his girlfriend Myra. We had a great BBQ at Casa de Sal, a beautiful birthday cake for the birthday babies Adrian and Louise. We ended up with about 20 people in attendance most of who were Travbuddies. Those that came to the BBQ included, Harriet (www.travbddy.com/africancrab), Sal (www.travbddy.com/sincitytraveler), Ryan (www.travbddy.com/fearlesstraveler82), Andrew (www.travbddy.com/UNLV), Sven (www.travbddy.com/Svenman99), Melanie (www.travbuddy.com/mellemel8), Brandon (www.travbuddy.com/travelero2009), Wendy (www.travbddy.com/travelngirl), Adrian (www.travbddy.com/acowboy) and his girlfriend Myra, Louise (www.
