Nearby suburb of Downfield is the home of the Shetland Sheepdog, not in the Shetland Islands. They took these small dogs to Shetland later. The dog's name was "Wee Laird O'Downfield." I suspect that it was not a suburban community back then, but an open farmland, where sheep and dogs could run and play.
