time to go home

It's gotten very expensive to travel the normal way of renting a car and staying in hotels so we're trying something new. We're traveling around Eastern Europe by train and staying in apartments. Later we'll join a tour group. It's definately cheaper but does it work? Join us and find out.

time to go home

fog is the mountains exhaling summer

We left Bolzano around noon and traveled back to the Venice Airport area; we’re catching an 8 a.m. plane out of Marco Polo tomorrow morning.  Retracing our steps on the Autostrada (we avoided our previously planned route through the mountains because of the fog) my husband got the thrill of actually passing a Ferrari.  Driving a rented car no less.  He smiled all the way into Mestre.

We stayed at the Titian Inn, a small hotel near the airport.  It was clean, inexpensive and offered a ride to the airport in the morning.  Best of all it was within walking distance to a little café called the Crazy Pizza that had decent food.  We rested, repacked our luggage to go through airport security (honestly, what kind of an attack can nail clippers accomplish?) and got ready to go home.  We’ve been gone so long that I’m accepting living out of a suitcase as normal.  Home sounds like a wonderful vacation.
