It's gotten very expensive to travel the normal way of renting a car and staying in hotels so we're trying something new. We're traveling around Eastern Europe by train and staying in apartments. Later we'll join a tour group. It's definately cheaper but does it work? Join us and find out.

Jurlinovi Dvori and Primosten - everybody has a still in the backyard

Jurlinovi Dvori (the court of Jurlin) is a cluster of small stone houses around a central courtyard.  It has everything; an aura of history, arbors covered by grape vines for protection from the sun, a mill, a friendly donkey and even a still for making the local grappa (it’d be called moonshine if you made it in Tenn.).  There are olive groves and even a local retired priest who greets us warmly.  He gives us a glass of walnut-flavored grappa and soon some of the tour group are helping him prepare the walnuts.  Another woman and I are busy petting the donkey.  Of course, there’s lunch.
