Today was a quiet restful day.  We did not set an alarm and had a leisurely breakfast.  The Langes picked us up at the campground and we headed west to visit Starved Rock State Park.  They know we enjoy watching eagles, so they wanted us to the eagle watching site in their area.  Unfortunately as we headed west the predicted rain began and steadily grew heavier.  Unable to do much in the park, we went to the restaurant in the park and had a wonderful lunch.  By the time we had finished lunch the rain had stopped and we were able to get a look at Starved Rock.  As we made our way back to the campground the skies cleared, but too late to fully enjoy the park.  After getting our car, we returned to the Langes home, where we spent the rest of the afternoon visiting and enjoying their pictures and videos from their trip to Ireland last summer.  It was wonderful to visit with friends that we met on our first trip to Alaska on an Alaskan cruise.

After dinner of pizza, we said our goodbyes for now and returned to the trailer to prepare to continue our journey west.  Tomorrow we are off to Minnesota.
