Mountains and blue skies

Today’s drive was a short one, so we got a slow start to the day.  After finally getting on the road the trip was uneventful across the Yellowhead Highway.  This highway travels though areas of rivers and streams, farmlands and mountains.  Most of the highway is lined with trees so grabbing photos is lucky at best.

We stopped in the little town of McBride for lunch at the train station.  The town was established as a multi-directional point for the railroad, and trains still stop at the little station although it does not function as a train station.  It is now a visitor center, gift shop and café.

We were safely in Valemount by early afternoon and arrived to temperatures in the 90’s.  Now what did I do with my summer clothes?  Does the air conditioner in the trailer still work?  We have finally found summer.

After a shower and dinner, it was good to just relax.

Tomorrow we travel once again across the Icefields Parkway.  The last time we came across we had snow.  We will see what tomorrow brings.  We saved a few places to stop at on the Parkway on the trip home.
