Alaska Veteran's Memorial

It was another cloudy day as we started south to Talkeetna.  As we passed the numerous Denali viewpoints the only thing visible was clouds.  Good thing we saw it earlier.  The ride was not a long one and most of the drive was along a tree lined road.

We did stop at the Alaska Veterans Memorial along the Parks Highway.

After arriving at Talkeetna, rode into town and walked the streets and shops.  Talkeetna is famous for it Moose Dropping Weekend, which happens to be this weekend.  This is why we could only get reservations through Thursday.  We probably will not try and stay through Saturday as they say an additional 3,000 people arrive in the town and I have no idea where they would put them.  It will sure be crowded.   We just found out they have had a cancellation at the campground, so we will be staying for the Moose Dropping.  I guess this is to be a once in a lifetime opportunity.   We will also find out where they put the 3,000 people,

Tomorrow we will take a float trip on the Talkeetna River.
