Staying in the Park

morning we moved into the park into the Savage River Campground in the
park. We have a nice wooded spot just a
few yards from a viewpoint to see
After lunch we went back to the visitor center to catch the bus for the dog kennels to see the dog sled demonstration. Before we got on the bus the skies had darkened and there was thunder and lightning all around. Sure enough before the demonstration was over the rain started. The talk was cut short and everyone made their way back to the busses. I resisted the urge to grab one of the puppies and take it home.
Back at the campground we fixed dinner and then relaxed for a while before going to the campground ranger talk which was on of all things, The Dog Musher. Shortly after arriving at the amphitheater, the thunder started and sure enough the talk was cut short for rain. So we made haste back to the trailer as the windows were open. That’s two for two.
With no electricity all modern means of entertainment we not available so we pulled out the cards and played Gin. I won’t say who the overall winner was. As we played, Fred was facing the large window and there appeared a beautiful, vivid rainbow. Probably the most vivid rainbow I have seen, at least the bottom portion. I was actually a full double rainbow. It stayed in the sky for quite a while.
