Our goal for the day was Tinley Park to visit the Langes once again as we pass through the Chicago area.  As we drove through Minnesota and Iowa we noticed the frequent use of alternative sources of power with the many wind farms which dot the landscape.  These tall white windmills capture the wind as it blows across the plains.

One thing on Fred’s “to do” list was to visit the Field of Dreams movie site.  Unfortunately we did not know where it was in Iowa.  As we headed down I-35 we stopped at a rest area for a geocache and they had wireless internet access.  So here was our chance to find out where the Field of Dreams was.   I turned out that it was not really out of our way.  We just needed to take a different road east and south.  Fred even got to hit a few balls on the field with the help of a dad and son who were playing on the field.  It costs nothing to visit the field and anyone can go out on the field and play a little ball, or to quote the movie “Have a catch”.

After grabbing lunch in town it was off to Illinois.

Tomorrow we will spend the day with the Langes.
