Well the best laid plans, etc, etc,…Our plans were to make a short drive to the DestructionBay area of the Yukon Territory and spend the night along KluaneLake. The best campground was filled so we headed to the second choice. After a brief look, we decided anywhere would be better than that, so we drove on, and on and on.By the time we stopped we were back in Alaska at a nice campground in Border City, Alaska.
The drive from Haines to Haines Junction at the Alaska Highway was beautiful. The sun was shining and the snow covered mountains gave nice contrast.KluaneLake was a vivid blue which the pictures do not do justice.
As we left Haines we watched a mama moose and her little one head to the river.
Later as we travel across the Yukon Territory, we saw a grizzly and a pair of moose. The moose were quite a way off the road so the photo is small.
Tomorrow we will go all the way to North Pole outside of Fairbanks and bypass Tok since we drove much farther today than expected.
Enjoy the pictures through the window.
