A short trip to Basel again

Over the year I have become rather familiar with the Basel and the surrounds. Switzerland is a place were everything is nice and working. I have never met andy extremes there but the calm of this beautiful country is warming. Kaija had never been to Schwitzerland so when we had the possibility we took it. My brother and his wife were going to Spain to visit her family and he called and asked if we would like to go Schwitzerland and maybe do some skiing. Well I dont ski but Kaija does and the likelyhood of both seeing the Alps and Schwitzerland for the first time made her very eager. I had taken her to the indoor ski in Ypres in Belgium some days before because she really missed skiing not being in Estonia but that had been too easy for her she said. So I thought it was a good idea to show her some real skitslopes.
We were very lucky with the weather and we drove from Brussels in the morning and took it rather easy. From Brussels Basel is a 5 hours drive and especially on a Sunday like this with no lorries on the road the traffic was a joy. Basel was very calm that day, people were out walking the streets but almost none of the shops were open, not even a souvenir shop. We enjoyed a long afternoon walk in the city and tried to find a place to get our evening meal. After a long seach we managed to find an italian restaurant and had a nice meal there.
