Ristorante Liguria

Zurich Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I have been serveral times in Basel over the years. The area is very nice and is the crossing between Germany, Schweitz and France.
While staying in Zurich for one night we whet to Niederdorferstrasse which is the main walking street in the Old Town of Zurich. Looking for some good food for the evening we entered a full restaurant named Liguria.

The restarant was clearly Italian with assumingly italian waiters but refecting they were probably Swiss from the Italian part of Switzerland. All of them being very friendly and all in all also very service minded. We wanted to go for aa starter and a main dish. I had an excelent starter, antipasta di mare with diffent tastes of scrimps, scuid and salmon tartare. My main dish was a spagetti di scampi with pistace nuts and it tasted great. The portions were not too small or too big. We had also one bottle of a very good dry white wine from Italy.

The restarant was nice with dim lighting, nice tables and chairs and decorated nicely. Coming without reservation we had to sit in the smoking area but actually nobody smoked there. Nice meal for the money. 3 people with starters, main dish, wine and a grappa we ended paying close to 300 sfr or 200 euro.

Thanks, I'll be in Zurich in 10 days and I'll check out this restaurant. I appreciate the advice.
