Oerlikon
There can be worse things than spending a night in Zurich. I had been on a business trip to Bern and on the way home I had a stay in Zurich since I could reach and earlier flight home. I stayed at the Swissotel in Oerlikon which a quarter in the northern part of Zürich, Switzerland. The Oerlikon quarter is a business and entertainment district. This hotel is within the walking distance from the Zurich fair, Messe Zurich Exhibition Hall as well as the Hallenstadion, Switzerland's most famous concert and sports venue hall.
As desribed earlier the hotel was great and situated 25 sfr in a taxi from the city center which is much more exciting than this area. The main wlaking street in Zurich is the Niederdorferstrasse were everybody strolls on a Friday and a Saturday. The street is full of shops, restaurants and bars. I visited some of them and the theme this season seems to be cuban or latin american which is not that bad. I had a nice Friday evening and next morning I went for a walk in the surroundings of the hotel.
The hotel is situated on the marktplatz were there are a morning market with fresh friuts and vegetables, homemade marmelade, and everything imaginable from a home cooking point - even a lot of different liquer.
