I arrived pretty late in the afternoon due to a meeting in Brussels. I rented a car in Zurich in order to make a quick drive to Lucerne and catch some of the late sessions on the conference I was attending.

I asked for a navigation not that I could not find from Zurich to Lucerne but to have the freedom and the possibility to arrive at the hotel fast. First issue was that the previous user had been from Barcelona or somewhere else in Catalonia because the machine setting was in Catalan! It took me some time to find the set-up changes that I needed and I am truly sorry that the next used will find the setting in Danish!

To arrive at the hotel turned out to be much more complicated than I had imagined.

Jesuitenkirche
The hotel was situated in the old quarters of the city where driving a car is almost impossible. I tried to enter form both side and not being knowledgeable about the local Swiss traffic rules I avoided to challenge them; I had more than one time had discussions with the Gendarmerie. I found a parking not too far away and used the apostle’s horses for the last meters in the reception.

I quickly left my stuff in the very nice hotel room, after having an extremely pleasant check-in with a receptionist names Silke! I had on my way in seen the KKL where the conference was situated so I had to cross the water again; this time but foot.

I managed to get the last out of the conference and met some of my colleagues and we decided to grab a beer or to and get something to eat later. We crossed the water again to find a cafe or a bar where we could sit in the sun and enjoy the fabulous view of the Lucerne Lake.

We managed to get some seats in front of Rathaus Brauerei and some large examples of their brewery products.

We enjoyed them and our own company so long that we had to have the last beer indoor. After having seen their beautiful copper brew kettles we decided to look for another place with a different kind of ambiance.

5 minutes walk from the Rathaus we found the Brasserie Bodu situated at the Kornmarkt. The brasserie was mostly a restaurant but we decided to stay in the bar and have some Weiss beer which one of the colleagues liked. Well we all liked them but he was particular keen on them. We had a fun conversation with the Portuguese waitress and we enjoyed fully the stay.

Usually Americans dont like them because they have a lot of taste and are very strong beers - I dont mean it bad but American beer is generally light.
I thought that you were a wine person!
