Back to Basel again
I had decided to go to Basel and visit my brother; I had not been there in half a year so it was about time. I didn't want to drive the usual route because I had done that drive so many times. Therefore I drove north to Antwerp in the morning instead of driving to the south and Luxembourg which would be my preferred route.
From Antwerp I drove towards Liege passing Hasselt which I had visited less than a month ago. Just before Liege I headed towards Spa which I not yet had confronted on my Tour de Belge. I passed the racing track in Spa and decided that I would come back soon; the nature in this region was fantastic and definitely worth a visit on its own.
From here I headed towards Trier which I enjoyed some years ago and from there I headed towards Saarbrucken which I had not been in for years. I drove through the city centre before I headed out on the motorway towards Strasbourg which I normally used. At Colmar I left the motorway and stopped for some shopping; shopping is a big word for some local Fisher beer, but I like then and I always bring them home if I have the possibility.
The last 60 km in to Basel went very fast from there.

The cafe fulfil you basic needs; there are tables inside and outside giving you the possibility to find just the place that suits you a given day. You have a good range of coffees and other beverage to choose from but the real beauty of this place is sitting on the square on a warm summer afternoon when the sun does not reach down to the tables. Just staying in the calm shade and read some local newspapers or look pictures if your German is too bad.
Switzerland is a calm place and this place will not get you up the chair, you will just relax.
