First Trip to Borneo

Mas Aji and Fikri
I took Garuda Indonesia, GA 514 11.55 pm arrived at Balikpapn at 15.05pm (one hour ahead than Jakarta). It's quite busy time at the airport. Something wrong with the system. So they had to do everything manually. It was funny to see handwriting on your printed ticket. You can't get the seat number, they would give you in the boarding room. Hmm that's weird!
Luckly, i was companied by two of my co-workers, Mas Aji and Fikri. The project in Balikpapan is one of my office's school wide development. Those two men are the officers. I helped them in media things. Anyways, we had coffee first at Starbucks.
You can find many coffee shops and restaurants in Soekarno Hatta Airport and most of them usually offer you free wi-fi.
Our plane was delayed for 1,5 hours due to the system broke down. The ride was little bit bumpy too, but safely we arrived at Sepinggan Airport Balikpapan. It is International aiport with traditional architecture. Really nice :D. A car picked me up than i went to one of the mall by the beach. Balikpapan is well-known as mining city. I don't really recommend you swim at the beach though hehehe unless you find a beach that far from the mining.
I met my friend, mba Yati. She's a reporter for Tribun Kaltim. Than we went to Blue Sky Hotel (see my travel review for details). Really too bad that she had to go to another meeting, but i got chance to take a tour to Tribun Kaltim Office.
At nite, we had dinner at Dandito Restaurants.

The food were good, very rich with spicies and fresh. Say good by to spoon and forks, use your hand!! The additional flavor , they had a singging hall. There was keyboard and mic, so you can singing any songs and the keyboardist would play it for you. We had blast, when Hendri and Cahyo were singing like a pro (or at least trying to be one hehehe)

A star hotel with warm atmosphere
This 8 story star hotel offers you warm atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful. Don't worry bout intruder coming to the hotel, they offer you maximum security.
The bedroom is nice. With very comfy and clean sheet. TV,Fridge and huge closet. The bathroom is clean. With shower and bathtub, of course hot and cold water.The best thing about the room is they have internet cable in each room and it is for free! All you have to do is plug the cable to your notebook.
At ground floor, they have 1 Japanese Restaurant and 1 Night Club. They have live band at the hotel lobby. I like the full band and especially the grand white piano. Oohh you can request a song to the band :D
Don't forget to try the swimming pool, sauna and the massage service. Try the traditional massage. It only cost you around 110.000 IDR (around 12 USD) for almost 2 hours non stop pleasure.
