Leaving thailand yesterday wasn't sad but exciting. I can't wait to see Vietnam and meet the kids!!!
I'm in Ho Chi Minh now. I fly out to Da Nang tonight. I won't see alot of this city this trip, but I'll be back here in October and i'll do more of the touristy things then. For now I'm sticking close to my hotel, which is in the shopping district. The centre where the Sheraton Saigon is, Louis Vuitton stores, Gucci, all that.
It's really hot here today and I'm being spoiled by having a room with a/c, hot water, tv, mini fridge, phone, and big double bed. I spent last night in the room with a couple bootleg DVD's and indian take away.
I'm on my own for the first time in 3months. I like it and I don't at the same time. itwould've been nice to have someone to laugh with me when I walked into the hotel's glass door, damn them for keeping it so clean!
well haven't seen too much to write about yet. They drive onthe right side of the road here and the only way i can tell is cause the steering wheel is on the left, other than that the roads are a bit of a madhouse. Motorbikes go on sidewalks, and pretty much do as they please. Everyone has a motorbike, froma child with no helmet, to a woman in highheels, to afamily piled on one bike withthe kid balancing on the dad's shoulders. They're all on there bikes whipping through the traffic. The taxi driverconfirmed for methere are many many accidents.
WellIcan't wait to see more of 'Nam. What I've seen so far is the ritzy tourist city.
