Flying into the city, I realized I had never seen fall colors in real life. I've been so sheltered in California...
The plan was to take a much-needed break from the neverending onslaught of law school homework for the weekend, and fly across the country to visit Stacy, a friend from college who was working in DC.  I took an overnight flight and got into town really early on Friday morning, so the first thing we did was get coffee and wake up Riggs, another guy we had gone to school with and who had moved to DC after graduation.  The three of us then went walking around to take in some sights.

We went to lunch and met up with some other friends who were in town looking at grad schools for the weekend.  Eric (one of the friends) and I went out to look at American University together and took in a whole new area of town.

Stacy and I were all set to go out dancing that night, but on our way out the door her roommate suggested we stop off at a benefit raising money for Bolivian street children.  The benefit was at a bar near Dupont Circle, so after we did good for mankind we headed over to Adams Morgan for a bit of fun.  Adams Morgan, for anyone who doesn't know (and I certainly didn't before my trip) is an area of town unlike anything I have ever seen in any city in the world.  It's a street that is literally exclusively bars, clubs and pubs - great for young people (over 21, as they're rather strict on ID's) who want to have some fun and easily jump between venues.
