We ate leftover everything and finally cracked into those potatoes we had been carrying with us for weeks now. It wasn't any day out of the extraordinary, but for some reason, it encompassed everything we felt on this trip. That night, we started a fire, and talked as our potatoes cooked slowly.
We were to explore the Santa Ynez wine country the next day, since we found ourselves a little too poor for Napa Valley. Our first stop was Solvang. A little town we fell in love with, for it's Dutch charm and un-American feel. We were there pretty early and before most shops were open, so we stopped for Breakfast at the Belgian first before strolling around town.
We headed Lincourt and Beckman, both very nice wineries, and though we don't know much about wine, thought the tastings were great! It was here that we realized how much time we were spending together. A woman asked us during a tasting whether we prefer white or red wine, and Janelle, laughing to herself, says "haha Well, I like red wine, but SHE likes white wine". Oh, we just sounded so much like a couple there. Anyway, it was only two stops, but we couldn't really afford any more, so we headed on our way up the PCH.
