Another day of sunshine - and we are counting 3 days in a row. . . And the boys are up to 20??? We learned an Dutch expression recently that translated is " Have one's nose in the butter", and we had that kind of day today. The ride began at a leisurely pace as the temperatures moved up to the 80's. We started at the Ijsseldijk which goes along the Ijssel river (which turns into the Rhein river in Germany. We stopped for coffee at a nice outdoor cafe and also enjoyed some applecake. Our light gourmet lunch was on a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the Ijssel. The food was sooo good, a step above our usual lunch joints. However, it seemed a bit strange to be eating at a white table cloth in biking clothes! We arrived at our hotel at 4pm after passing by the Palace Het Loo (one of the Queen's palaces). Today is laundry day, so we will all be smelling sweet again tomorrow!! We plan to explore the Palace and dine outdoors in Apeldoorn tonight.
Ride: Zwolle - Zalk - Ijsel - Twello - Hoog Soeren - Apeldoorn
