B & B/Gallery
Cyclists began their day singing Happy Birthday to Roek (Lars friend, and our driver -also known as "Big Daddy") at breakfast. Our B & B was great; nicely decorated, and the breakfast was like being at home with a table for 6 in a beautiful kitchen. This B & B was unique because it was also a gallery. A few purchases were necessary in the gallery before we left.

Today is Open Monument Day in Doesburg which means that we were able to tour several buildings (including cellars) that were built as early as the 1300's). This was a true rest day, so we strolled through Doesburg, listened to carillon music and did a lot of people watching.

We decided on a picnic lunch of cheese, sausage, wine, fresh apples, and stroopwaffles. We went back to the Veluwe National Park and ate, drank, and relaxed before a great view. We drove through the countryside into Germany and stopped to look at a castle nearby. We had a fabulous dinner at Villa Copera on the Rhine river. Great food, wine, atmosphere made us forget we were cyclists - until the coat check person brought out the Pearl Izumi cycling jackets!

The cold, cloudy weather is clearing, so we're looking forward to getting back on the cycles tomorrow.

Hi, Larry, I now know why you are in Holland, in a witness protection program after the loss to USC. Mike
