A grey and windy, but yet beautiful day... :o)
When I woke up this morning, the weather was beautiful. Sun was shining and it looked absolutely wonderful. But I was in no shape of going anywhere or do anything, so I thought I'd relax for a bit longer, and then see what the weather was like later on.
It turned out I slept.. well, a little longer then I had planned, and the weather had turned grey. But the temperature was quite good, so I decided to to head out. As usual I packed up my camera, something to drink, grabbed my keys and my cat and off I was.
I wanted to go somewhere I normally don't go, so I drove to Kapp.
First I stopped at a place called Starum. Thinking maybe there were something interesting to see up there, but it wasn't. Only thing I found that I wanted pics of, were the Fjording horses. ;p. As I drove on I noticed the Norwegian flag blowing in the wind, and with the bright yellow leaves as a background, I had to have a picture. It looked great! :o)
Then I drove down by the old Milk factory and the Skibladner docks. Skibladner is the oldest paddle steamer in the world, and it's known as the White Swan of Lake Mjøsa. It's preserved and restored and it's over 150 years old. But it continues to run a timetabled service every summer.

Growing up in these parts, and have still not been on cruise with the Skibladner is actually a shame. So.. shame on me. I need to go on a cruise, only now I have to wait till next summer.
Since I had my cat with me (she's almost like a little dog, walking on a leash. Lol ) , I didn't walk very far, but it was so wonderful being outdoors and by the lake. My cat was so curious and sniffed around at just about anything... oh, and all the birds she wanted so bad, but couldn't get to.. hahaha.. she's so cute.
Walking around down there and shooting pics, I came across this really cool Viking vessel. I can't tell how old it is, or even if it's just a replica, but it was so incredibly detailed. It shouldn't come as a surprise to me, that there's a Viking boat on Lake Mjøsa, since there are evidence there were Vikings in the area when they roamed the earth. But still it kinda was surprising. Wasn't exactly what I thought I'd find at a place like Kapp. LOL
I think I was there for about an hour, maybe a little more and it was so good to be outdoors. Even with overcast and a bit windy. The fresh air is great and refreshing. :o)
