Jesse and I drove the (almost 6-hr) route to get here - we ended up taking 40 to 64 to NC12. It was off and on rain all day today - poop! We were hoping for beautiful weather this weekend! Hopefully tomorrow will be better...
Anyway, we got to our B&B and met the owner, Cathy, who is an ADORABLE grandma-type lady - I loved her immediately! We also met her two giant cats and her bird. Our room wasn't ready yet, so we headed to the nearby beach to check it out, took a rather short walk, and spent a little time on the sundeck at the B&B although it was not sunny by any means, but at least it wasn't raining! When we got tired of sitting, we drove back a little ways to a Dairy Queen we had seen on the road and stuffed ourselves with ice cream!
Our room was called Charlie (all the rooms are ironically named after hurricanes), and it was beautiful with a king-sized bed.
We ended up taking a nap and waking up at almost 8pm! I hurried over to the restaurant next door for a to-go order of salad, lobster bisque and hushpuppies and we ate them in our room - all delicious!
Tomorrow we'll check out the Hatteras lighthouse and take the ferry to Ocracoke for half a day or so!
