Because empuria is one of the biggest residential marina in the world,  you will have the opportunity to rent a boat and cross the canals by your self. There are a couple of company's where you can rent an solar powered boat and engine powered boats.A licence is not necessary so everyone can do it.

We found two boat rentals next to each other and choose for Los barkitos because they had engine powered boats and the kids want to use that, because that is a real boat they said. You can rent the boat for an hour and it will cost you about 30 euros. The hour is enough to enjoy the trip around the canal. It is not allowed to take a side canal. All the side canals are dead end canals.

It's beautiful to see the big houses and bigger boats at the back yard, and you have to watch out for the big boats. The speed limits is low, but the rental boats are slower than the minimum speed limit. We enjoyed the trip, and the boy's want us to buy a boat  when were back in holland. So i hope to win a lottery or find an old sock under a mattress or so.The only boat we have is an inflatable one,and they don't mean that.

After an hour you can buy the pictures they took before you left whit the boat, and or if you are on holiday you will buy these( we did).
