After a long night sleep in the wonderful bed of Mariott - and the bed was really great - I can't remember a bed like this before, we decided to go out for a long walk in the city. I was cold, around -2 degrees, but we were prepared for the walk. As usual I had looked at a citymap before we went out and I felt well oriented - but I was not:-)
We wanted to go to the old town but we went in the wrong direction, and it actually didn't matter because we had all the time in the world. The city is rather big - there is glance of Berlin to it - open air and far between the buildings and a lot of trees.
We started by going to some markets - I have always enjoyed this just to feel some of the local atmosphere and check out whats in style - food, fashion or what ever.
After a long walk we found the old city wall - it makes me so happy when I find a city that have kept these monuments of the life in old days. Inside the wall the city is really beautiful with well kept houses - one could just imagine how Warsaw would have looked like, if the WWII hadn't destroyed the most of it.
It ws really a pleasure to walk the streets and I could only imagine this city centre in the summer - it must be fantastic! The good thing about visiting cities at this time of year is that you have it pretty much to yourself - if you like it, I do.
