A few days on the caldera of the Santorini volcano in the Greek Islands

Athens

A few photos from my short stay in Athens, on my way to Santorini.

I was staying in a hotel very close to the Acropolis. Just had time to visit this site and see the changing of the guards at the Greek Parliament Buildings.

Nice hotel nearby the Acropolis
What's great about the Athens Gate Hotel is its location, right next to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and very close to the Acropolis. The entrance to this site is just a 5 minutes' walk away. The Greek Parliament Building is also a short walk away.

It is worthwhile taking a room on the quiet side of the hotel facing the Acropolis, where you will have a lovely view on the Parthenon. Syngrou avenue on the other side is quite busy.

The rooms are comfortable and a breakfast buffet is offered on the roof garden from where you have a great 360 deg view on the city.
The hotel has wireless internet. If I remember correctly it was 5 Euros for 30 min.

I stayed just one night in this hotel and would recommend it without hesitation.
