Street Brocante at the village of Bassilly
Going to the village Brocante or street market in Bassilly was an impuls. My friend and I was the day before having a BBQ on my balcony when he said that one of his colleagues was serving beer and playing trumpet at the town market.
Bassilly was a very small village situated approx. 40 km from Brussels and we arrived there at 10 am. It was a small town brocante where all locals had emptied their attics and cleaned up their garage in order to earn a buck or two. There was an enormous amount of junk but it was fun watching the trades and negotiations.
As always on events like this there were beer tents, BBQ´s and music in the street. I was a fun event and I really enjoyed the atmosphere there. We met up with my friends colleague and on the way there met another one living in the same area. This lead to a taste of some local beers at around noon and I must say that these, as well as almost all other Belgian beers I have tasted were good and strong!
